The vineyards are the heart of our work.
We firmly believe that we are rewarded for all the care we devote to the vineyards in the grapes that we harvest.
The healthier the vineyards are, the better the grapes we harvest will be. With this in mind, we manage our vineyards with the aim of creating an ecological system that allows the vines to enjoy the best possible living conditions.
We avoid the use of herbicides, preferring specific mechanical tools that help the vine defend itself from pests, aerating the soil at the same time; we try to minimise the leaching of the soil during storms that would strip the soil of precious mineral elements; we use organic (strictly selected) fertilisers only and this is very important to supply the vine with the best components to be transferred to the grapes and to enable the soil to maintain the precious microflora that is so essential to the life of the vines.
All vineyard management operations are carried out exclusively by hand. We start with pruning – in order to tailor production to the strength of the individual vine, and then train the shoots to their supports. This is followed by traumatic thinning of the bunches – sacrificing part of the production to concentrate only on the best bunches, and harvesting – with the selection of the precious grapes by expert hands which then place them in perforated crates that allow the grapes to reach the cellar in perfect condition.
