Cantina Agricola Marrone

The wines of Agricola Marrone are aged in the cellars located in Frazione Annunziata di La Morra.

In the following spring, when vinification has been completed, the wine spends sixteen till thirty months in oak, at a constant temperature of 16/18°C.
Blind tastings are often organised at Agricola Marrone, the goal being always to obtain the highest aromatic precision. The coopers who make the barrels and barriques are invited to take part. These meetings create an opportunity to assess and appreciate different woods and test their homogeneity.

Affinamento - Agricola Marrone

Maturing begins in late November – early December. The wine is drawn off for the first time a few weeks later, in January or February. This delicate operation clarifies the wine by separating it from the rough lees which have settled at the bottom of the tank and will be subsequently repeated. During racking, 210 litres of the 225 contained in each barrique are racked using an inert gas (nitrogen) which pushes the wine out without allowing oxidation. Neither filters nor pumps are used during this operation, so as not to disturb the balance of the wine. The aim is not to reproduce the same wine every year but to have wines with outstanding freshness, elegance, finesse, length and balance, capable of reflecting the personality and typicality of the grape and the vintage.

Ageing can last from one to three years. During this period of time, a series of professional tastings enable us to determine the perfect moment for bottling, to obtain and guarantee the excellence of our product.
